  • This will be the fourth meeting between Namibia and Scotland in men’s T20Is and the first since October 2021; in fact, Namibia have won all three of their previous games against Scotland in the format including a four-wicket win at the 2021 T20 World Cup.
  • Namibia have won their last three consecutive men’s T20Is including a Super Over win against Oman after winning only three of their previous eight games in the format; however, this will be the first time in seven games that they’ve faced a team other than Oman.
  • Namibia have won only one of their previous eight games at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup within 20 overs, picking up one Super Over win and six losses in that frame; though, they have won three of their five games against associate members at the tournament.
  • Scotland will be looking to avoid back-to-back defeats in men’s T20Is for the first time since October 2022 after losing to Ireland by five wickets in their last completed game in the format (23 May 2024); though, they had lost only two of their previous 11 games in the format prior to the last-start defeat.
  • Scotland have won only one of their last eight completed games at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup (L7) but won three of their previous four games against associate members at the tournament; however, their only defeat to a fellow associate member in this stretch was against Namibia at the 2021 edition.
  • David Wiese has scored more runs (302) and has a higher batting strike rate (132.5) than any other Namibia batter at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, while he has also logged two of the country’s three scores of 50+ at the tournament.
  • JJ Smit (Namibia) made a good connection on 83% of his 12 balls faced in his side’s first game of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup against Oman, the highest rate of any player to face more than a single delivery in the game; he has a career batting average of 95 from three innings against Scotland which is his highest against any team.
  • Mark Watt has a bowling dot ball rate of 42.3% from his 54 overs at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the highest rate of any Scotland player to bowl at least five overs at the tournament; indeed, he’s taken at least one wicket in each of his three career games against Namibia in the format.
  • Ruben Trumpelmann (Namibia) has taken five wickets for 40 runs across his two T20I bowling innings against Scotland; he took 3/17 at an economy of 4.3 in his last innings against them which is the second-best economy of his career (3.5 vs Zimbabwe in May 2022).
  • George Munsey (Scotland) scored 41 runs without being dismissed in his first innings of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and has now scored 40+ runs in two of his last three innings in the format; though, the only time he has been dismissed for zero runs across his last 49 innings was against Namibia in 2021.
