SIX! Andrew Tye to Chris Jordan. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot flick, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. Jordan finishes things in style, thumping this into the Tasmanian night sky for a maximum. You still get the sense it's too little too late for England, but they have runs on the board.

At one stage it looked as though England were capable of reaching a score in excess of 200, but a remarkable collapse through some outstanding Australian bowling halted their progress. 155/9 looks a little under par, especially as Australia have stacked their batting line-up for tonight. There is some turn on offer but the tourists are only playing the one spinner - Adil Rashid will have a big role to play during the chase. Dawid Malan's half century held things together for England, but once he fell everything went in a heap. Glenn Maxwell was the surprise package, picking up a more than helpful 3/10.

  • 17.2

OUT! Caught. Andrew Tye to Tom Curran. Slower length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep cover, by Warner. Tye's trademark knuckle-ball does the business for Australia. It's so deceptive, Curran is through the shot way too early so this spoons high into the offside. Warner pumps his arms in celebration, this has been a great display by the hosts.

  • 17.1

Over 17. 11 runs. Bowler: Chris Jordan. Australia: 139/5 (rr 8.18)
  • 16.6

SIX! Billy Stanlake to Tom Curran. Short, outside off stump backing away pulling, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. Boom, how about that for a shot first ball by Curran? He gambles on the ball being short and he's spot on, so unleashes a venonous pull that goes way back.

  • 16.5

Billy Stanlake to Chris Jordan. Length ball, off stump on the back foot defending, hit pad to third man for 1 run, fielded by Richardson.

  • 16.4

Billy Stanlake to Chris Jordan. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, thick edge to deep backward point for 2 runs, fielded by Short.

  • 16.3

OUT! Caught. Billy Stanlake to Adil Rashid. Short, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep square leg, by Stoinis. Another one bites the dust, what a collapse this is by the tourists. Rashid swings hard at this bouncer but it takes the toe-end and Stoinis accepts it with ease. England are in real danger of being bowled out now.

  • 15.4

OUT! Stumped. Glenn Maxwell to David Willey. Off break length ball, outside off stump down the track Slog, missed to wicketkeeper, by Carey. Oh dear, that's village stuff from Willey. With England stuttering and in need of a little partnership he charges down and has a wild heave. Carey whips the bails off in a flash and now England are really in the mire. Maxwell on a hat-trick.

  • 15.3

OUT! Caught. Glenn Maxwell to Dawid Malan. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot sweeping, well timed in the air uncontrolled to deep backward square leg, by Tye. Swallowed in the deep, Malan has to depart now with England in real bother. Pace off is doing the trick for the hosts, that's four wickets to spinners now on a pitch that is taking turn. He was looking for a big sweep but a bit of bounce means it balloons off the top edge.

  • 15.2

  • 15.1

  • 18.3

SIX! Mark Wood to Glenn Maxwell. Back of a length, off stump backing away pulling, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. Smashed over the ropes, Hobart erupts in joy as Maxwell finishes things in style. What a knock, his second T20I century takes Australia to victory by 5 wickets at the Blundstone Arena.

Glenn Maxwell's swashbuckling century took Australia to a second successive victory to kickstart the T20I Tri-Series in style. England's total, built on a classy Malan half century, seemed slightly under par after a collapse against some wily spin bowling. However, a pumped up David Willey took two wickets in the first over of the chase to put the hosts on the back foot and boost the tourists' spirits. From there though, Maxwell flayed the ball to all parts of the ground in an innings that needed a slice or two of luck along the way. No doubts about who will scoop the player of the match award, Maxwell took a career best 3/10 to go with his audacious century. England will look to bounce back when these two sides meet again at the MCG on Saturday.

  • 17.3

FOUR! Tom Curran to Glenn Maxwell. Slower ball short, off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Slammed to the ropes for four more, I wonder if Maxwell has thoughts of a century in the back of his mind.

  • 16.2

FOUR! Chris Jordan to Glenn Maxwell. Yorker, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past deep backward point for 4 runs. Jordan gets his wide yorker pretty much spot on, but that won't stop Maxwell finding the fence in this sort of form. The Big Show uses his wrists expertly to slice the ball away powerfully.

  • 15.5
    Travis Head b David Willey 6 (13)

OUT! Bowled. David Willey to Travis Head. Yorker, off stump on the front foot driving, missed. Timber, right in the blockhole and Willey strikes for the third time tonight. Head never really got going tonight, perhaps still feeling the after-effects of the BBL celebrations. England just keeping themselves in the hunt.

  • 15.4

FOUR! David Willey to Glenn Maxwell. Back of a length, to leg on the back foot pulling, well timed past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Ferociously swatted through mid wicket, Maxwell is the man at the Blundstone Arena. If he bats through then the hosts will win this easily.

  • 15.2
