Shivam Mavi IPL Profile

Shivam Pankaj Mavi is a rising cricket talent from India, known for his expertise in fast bowling. He gained prominence during the 2018 U19 World Cup with his exceptional speed and deadly bouncers, making him a standout player. Clocking speeds of over 140 kmph consistently, he attracted widespread attention for his skills, becoming one of the most talked-about players in the tournament. His impressive performances caught the interest of several IPL teams eager to sign him.

Recognizing his potential, the Kolkata team bought Mavi for Rs 3 crore at the IPL 2018 auction. He made his IPL debut against Mumbai and showed flashes of his talent, despite only bowling one over in his first match. Although he played in nine games during the season, he only managed to take five wickets with a relatively high economy rate of 9.64 runs per over. Unfortunately, a stress fracture cut short his IPL journey, causing him to miss a greater part of the season.

After recovering from the injury setback, Mavi returned to domestic cricket, representing Uttar Pradesh with distinction. He made history during the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy by taking a hat-trick against Saurashtra on the tournament's opening day, reinforcing his status as a top fast bowler.

His outstanding performances in domestic cricket earned him his first international call-up to the Indian cricket team for the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka. Making his T20I debut at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on January 3, 2023, he impressed by taking four wickets for just 22 runs.

After playing for the Kolkata franchise for three seasons in the IPL, Mavi moved to the Gujarat team in 2023 but did not play any matches. He was then signed by the Lucknow franchise ahead of the 2024 season, marking a new chapter in his IPL career.
