Tushar Deshpande IPL Profile

Tushar Deshpande is an Indian Cricketer who plays for Mumbai Team in domestic cricket and for Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League. The right-arm medium pacer and a left-hand batsman.

Born on 15 May 1995 in Kalyan, Mumbai, Tushar was attached to cricket since childhood. He represented Mumbai in each age group of under-14, under-16, and under-19. He caught the attention of Mumbai selectors for the first time with 21 wickets in just four Cooch Behar Trophy matches. 

He made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. However, a serious injury, as well as the death of his mother, almost sidelined him for a whole year. He returned to the pitch in 2018 and impressed onlookers with a further better version of himself.

He picked up 15 wickets in Vijaya Hazare Trophy to guide Mumbai to win the trophy for the first time in 12 years. He recorded 2/30 in the final as Mumbai were crowned champions. He bagged 17 wickets in five matches in the Ranji Trophy in the same year. 

On the back of his outstanding display, he secured a contract in IPL with Delhi Daredevils ahead of the 2020 Indian Premier League for a sum of Rs 20 lakhs. However, it proved difficult for him to land a place in the playing XI. He featured in 5 matches in the 2020 IPL and managed 3 wickets. He was released from the Delhi team ahead of the IPL 2022 season. Chennai Super Kings, thereafter, bought him for at a base price of Rs 20 lakhs in the auction.
