Aiden Markram IPL Profile

Aiden Markram is a South African cricketer who captains the South Africa national cricket team in Twenty20 International cricket and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. Markram gained prominence when he captained the South Africa U-19 cricket team to win the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

Born on 4 October 1994 in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa, Markram is blessed with a frame of  6 ft 1 inches and has a body weight of 75 kg. Markram is an opening batsman and can be a menace to the opposition bowlers due to his aggressive style of batting. He is a right-handed batsman but can also be useful as a right-arm off break occasionally. 

Markram made his first class debut for Northerns Cricket Team against South Western Districts on 9 October 2014. In May 2017, Markram was named Domestic Newcomer of the Year at Cricket South Africa's annual awards. He eventually made his international Test debut against Bangladesh in September 2017, where he was out for 97. By the end of 2017, he had slammed two Test centuries.  The right-handed opner made his ODI debut for South Africa against Bangladesh on 22 October 2017, scoring 66 runs, as well as taking 2 wickets.

On 11 September 2021, Markram was included in the Punjab Kings squad for the second phase of the 2021 Indian Premier League  in the UAE. In February 2022, he was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the auction for IPL 2022. He is currently the skipper of the Hyderabad franchise after successfully leading Sunrisers Eastern Cape to the SA20 victory.
