Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, is a bowling all-rounder who represents Goa in the domestic circuit and Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League. Born on 24 September 1999, he undoubtedly faces the burden of his father's legacy, but the young cricketer seems to be progressing in his style.
Like his father, Arjun started cricket in his formative years but picked up pace bowling as his passion going forward. He got exclusive access to some of the most well-known cricket venues in the world for practice thanks to his father, but he made sure that those sessions were used to get better. A left-arm medium pacer with a knack for picking wickets and a more than handy lower-order batsman, Arjun made his professional debut with Mumbai with the Under-14 side. He later progressed through the ranks and played for other Mumbai youth groups- Mumbai U16, Mumbai U19, and Mumbai U23.
He also represented India's U19 side in 2018. He was called up to the national team for a Test series against Sri Lanka where he picked up a wicket on his debut. Following his gradual development he earned a place in the Mumbai senior side and made his T20 debut for the Mumbai cricket team during the 2020/21 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. He, however, changed his alliance to Goa in the 2022/23 Ranji Trophy season. He made an immediate impact for the Ranji side scoring a century on his Ranji Trophy debut against Rajasthan. In the tournament, he scored 223 runs and picked 12 wickets in seven games which was quite impressive.
Arjun got a shot in IPL in 2021 after he was picked up by Mumbai Indians for his base price of Rs 20 lakh. However, he did not play any game in the edition. The following season Mumbai I again bought him from the auction. He has also been a big part of IPL 2023 for the Mumbai-based franchise.
