Ravi Bishnoi IPL Profile

Ravi Bishnoi is an Indian international cricketer who plays for Rajasthan in the domestic circuit and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. Capable of bowling the orthodox leg-spin to good effect, Bishnoi struggled a lot before making a mark in the game.

Coming from a remote Rajasthani village, there was no actual cricket academy throughout his early playing career that he could join to train. But with the aid of his trainers, his friends, and his teammates in his village, he managed to form a cricket academy to continue his development. 

After a few rejections and lot of hard work, Bishnoi finally broke into Rajasthan's U-19 domestic team and later into the senior side. He made his T20 debut and List-A debut for Rajasthan in 2019. 

However, his big break came in 2020 when he represented India in the Under-19 World Cup. The tournament turned out to be a career-changing event for him. Coming to prominence, he ended the tourney with 17 wickets, making him the competition's leading wicket-taker.

Leg spinners are usually a big attraction in the IPL because of their range, and Bishnoi was no exception when he was acquired by Punjab Kings for Rs. 2 crore in IPL 2020 Auction. The boy from Jodhpur immediately started making his mark in the competition and became the find of the season with 12 wickets in his debut campaign. After two successful seasons with them, he was bought by Lucknow Super Giants in 2022 for Rs 4 crore.

On the back of his consistent domestic and IPL display, he earned a national call-up as well in January 2022. Bishnoi made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against West Indies and was named the player of the match in his first game after taking two wickets. He made his ODI debut in the same year in October against South Africa.
