Shams Mulani Biography

Born on 13 March 1997, Shams Mulani is an Indian cricketer who plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Hailing from Mumbai, Shams is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a handy lower-order batsman.
He came through the ranks for Mumbai playing in several age-group tournaments and was always been one of their best players. After impressing in youth ranks he finally managed to break into the senior squad in the 2017/18 T20 Zonal League. The same season he also made his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. After shining in both formats he got a shot for the national squad at the Emerging Asia Cup in Sri Lanka in December 2018.
A bowler with special quality in shorter formats, Shams did not have to wait much longer to get included in the Indian Premier League. He was selected in the IPL 2021 as a replacement for Axar Patel for Delhi Daredevils. However, he did not play any games and was released from the side. However, the all-rounder go back to his roots once again and started making progress in the domestic ranks.
He was one of the best players for Mumbai in the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy and became their highest wicket taler that season. He also won the 2022 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with Mumbai. On the back of his impressive display, he again got a shot in the IPL. This time Mumbai Indians roped him from auction ahead of IPL 2023.
