Simarjeet Singh IPL Profile

Born on 17 January 1998, Simarjeet Singh is an Indian pacer who plays for Delhi in the domestic circuit and Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League. The tall, skiddy pace bowler is capable of clicking 140 kmph on a regular basis and is known for his wicket-taking abilities with new ball.

He started his professional career with Delhi in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 20 September 2018. Later that season, he also debuted in the Ranji trophy with them. Simarjeet however experienced a cold start to his career with just one wicket in the 35 overs he bowled in the Ranji match. However, over the years he started making strides and became a regular member of the Delhi domestic side.

His raw pace and impressive display in the domestic circuit linked him with the Delhi Daredevils unit however only as a net bowler. He also flew with the Indian team as a net bowler on the tour of Sri Lanka in July 2021. After an outbreak of COVID at the time, he luckily got included in India's main squad for their final two Twenty20 International matches of the tour. Although he did not feature in any of the games.

But his talent got noticed and he finally managed to break into the Indian Premier League. Mumbai Indians roped him in in 2021 as a replacement for Arjun Tendulkar in the midway of the season. In 2022, he was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the auction at his base price of Rs. 20 lakhs which was his first full season in IPL. He was retained by CSK in IPL 2023.
