Kumar Kartikeya IPL Profile

Born on 26 December 1997 in Kuwasi, Uttar Pradesh, Kumar Kartikeya Singh is bowling all-rounder who plays for Madhya Pradesh at the state level and Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League. The left-arm spinner can bowl orthodox and wrist spin with an array of variations. He is also well capable of hitting some big shots in lowers order with willow in his hand.

Kartikeya made his debut for the State team in the 2018 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Saurashtra. The same season he also broke into the Ranji team. He immediately made an impact for his state side picking up 35 wickets in 16 games in the tournament. He has since been an ever useful addition for Madhya Pradesh team improving his game with each passing day. The all-rounder however came into limelight after a five-wicket haul against Gujarat in the 2022 Ranji Trophy. He also was impressive in the the 2022 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy picking up five wickets.

Kartikeya started his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians in 2022. He was a net bowler with the side in the same season. However, the franchise did not rope him in for the main squad. But after they lost Mohammad Arshad Khan due to an injury for the whole season, the franchise bought him for the main squad at a base price of Rs 20 Lakh. The wrist spinner experinced a decent debut season in an otherwise torrid campaign for Mumbai Indians, picking up five wickets in four games. He is a part of the set-up for the 2023 IPL season as well.
