Mayank Agarwal IPL Profile

Mayank Agarwal is an Indian cricketer who plays for Karnataka cricket team in domestic cricket and has represents India at international level. He is a right-handed top-order batsman who is also adept of bowling right-arm off break. Born on 16 February 1991 in Bangalore, Karnataka, Agarwal is 32 years of age at the time of IPL 2023. He has a frame of 5 ft 9 in and has a body weight of 75 kg.

Mayank Agarwal's father Anurag Agarwal is the CEO of the US$35 million healthcare company Natural Remedies. He studied at the Bishop Cotton Boys' School and Jain University in Bangalore, where he was teammates with K L Rahul and Karun Nair. He holds the record of scoring most runs in an Indian domestic season when in the 2017-18 season, he amassed 2,141 runs across all formats.

Mayank started his domestic career in the year 2010. In November 2017, he slammed his maiden triple century in first-class cricket, when he scored 304 not out batting for Karnataka against Maharashtra in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy. During the same month, he scored 1,000 runs in first-class cricket.  He was the leading run-scorer in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy, finishing the tournament with 1,160 runs.

Agarwal has played for IPL franchises like Royal Challengers Bangalore,  Delhi Daredevils, Rising Pune Supergiants and Punjab Kings over the years. In the IPL Auction 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad acquired his services for a figure of Rs 8.25 Cr.

Agarwal made his Test debut for India against Australia on 26 December 2018, scoring 76 in his first innings at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He made his ODI debut for India, against New Zealand, on 5 February 2020. On 19 December 2020, in the first Test against Australia, he scored his 1,000th run in Test matches, becoming the third fastest Indian batsman to reach 1000 runs in Test.
