MS Dhoni Biography

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a former India cricketer and captain of the Indian national team in limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2017, and in Test cricket from 2008 to 2014. Born on July 7, 1981, in Ranchi (Jharkhand), he is also the current captain of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
Dhoni is a right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman and known for his calm captaincy and his ability to finish matches in tight situations.
The legendary cricketer is amongst the few Indian cricketers to have amassed 5000-plus runs in the IPL. He was bought by CSK in the inaugural edition of the IPL and went on to establish himself as the greatest captains in IPL history.
Dhoni has won four IPL titles with Chennai Super Kings. Under his captaincy, the Chennai-based franchise won 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021 IPL titles. He also guided CSK to win the Champions League T20, now defunct, twice.
He is one of the most successful captains in the history of the Indian Premier League. Dhoni is the youngest of the three children of Pan Singh and Devaki Devi. He married Sakshi Singh Rawat on July 4, 2010. The wedding took place in Dehradun. The couple have one daughter named Ziva Dhoni.
Under his captaincy, Team India won the 2007 T20 WC, 2011 ODI World Cup, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. He also led India to victory in the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cup. Under his captaincy, India won the 2010 and 2011 ICC Test Championship Mace.
