Shimron Hetmyer IPL Profile

Shimron Hetmyer is a young explosive West Indian batsman who plays for Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League. The left-handed West Indies international is a middle-order batsman and signed for Rajasthan Royals only in 2022.

Born on December 26, 1996, Hetmyer turned 26 ahead of IPL 2023. The West Indies international's height in feet is 5 feet 10 inches and his body weight is approximately 75 kg. He is unmarried but is currently engaged to his would-be wife Nirvani Hetmyer. They became parents to a kid in 2022.

Shimron Hetmyer began his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2019. But after an underwhelming display, he was released from the side. He was acquired by Delhi Capitals during the 2020 IPL auction. He remained for two seasons with the Delhi-based franchise but again with below-par performances. Rajasthan Royals, however, backed the talent and class of Hetmyer signing him for a whopping 8.5 crore in IPL 2022 Auction and it turned out to be a masterstroke for the team.

Shimron Hetmyer proved to be a hard-hitting finisher at the death making runs on a consistent basis in the 2022 season for RR. He made 314 runs in 15 matches for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022. He was one of the key reasons behind RR reaching the final in 2022. Although they lost to Gujarat Titans at the end.

Shimron Hetmyer is a regular on the international stage for West Indies as well and has delivered some memorable knocks for the Caribbean side. After helping West Indies win the Under-19 World Cup in 2015–16, he went on to become a well-known lower-middle order batman for the senior side in T20 cricket.
