Yash Dayal IPL Profile

Yash Dayal was born on December 13, 1997 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. He represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and operates as a left arm fast-medium bowler. Dayal is known for his ability to swing the ball both ways. 

The left-arm fast bowler made his debut for Uttar Pradesh in the List A format during the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy on September 21, 2018. A couple of months later, he then debuted in first-class cricket in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy.

He also made an entry into Twenty20 cricket during the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on February 21, 2019. His career saw a terrific transition when the Gujarat Titans secured his services in the IPL 2022 auction for INR 3.2 crores, which was quite an amount for an uncapped player. 

The left-arm medium-fast bowler made his IPL debut against the Rajasthan Royals on April 13, 2022. However, his cricketing venture didn't quite take off the way he would have wanted to as he suffered a significant setback during the 2023 season when he failed to defend 29 runs in the final over against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Rinku Singh did the unthinkable as he smashed the bowler for five consecutive sixes in that over. Yash Dayal bowled one of the most expensive spells in IPL history as he registered bowling figures of 0/69 in four overs. In the wake of his terrible bowling performance, he was released by the Ahmedabad-based franchise.

Despite the setback, his career took another positive turn when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru picked him up for an even higher bid of INR 5 crores for the 2024 IPL season.
