Anuj Rawat Biography

Anuj Rawat is an Indian cricketer who represents Delhi in domestic cricket and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League. He is a left-handed top-order batsman and wicket-keeper. Born on 17 October 1999 in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand, Rawat is just 23 years of age at the time of IPL 2023.
He made his first-class debut for Delhi in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on 6 October 2017. He made his Twenty20 debut for Delhi in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 21 February 2019. He made his List A debut on 4 October 2019, for Delhi in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In the 2020 IPL auction, he was bought by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2020 Indian Premier League for Rs 80 lakhs. In February 2022, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore during Indian Premier League 2022 auction for Rs 3.4 crore.
Anuj's father Virendra Pal Singh Rawat is a farmer. At the age of 11, Anuj came to Delhi and got himself enrolled in Raj Kumar Sharma’s academy in Paschim Vihar, West Delhi. The youngster has learnt his trade from experienced cricketers like Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma.
