Jayant Yadav IPL Profile

Jayant Yadav is an Indian international cricket player, who plays for Haryana in domestic cricket. Yadav is a bowling all-rounder, who also bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off break. He was born on January 22, 1990, in Delhi, India. 

Jayant made his first-class debut for Haryana in 2011 at the age of 21 against Gujarat. In the game, he picked up six wickets and supported his team's decisive victory. His big partnership of 392 runs for the eighth wicket with Amit Mishra grabbed people's attention during a match against Karnataka. He scored 211 runs in the game while reaching his maiden century.

His outstanding batting and spin bowling abilities during the 2014–15 Ranji season got him a spot on the India A team for the home series against South Africa and Bangladesh. His consistent performances in the domestic league put him on the national radar as well and he was chosen for the Indian ODI team's 2016 tour to Zimbabwe. 

The same year, Jayant's name was added to the team to play against New Zealand. In the game, he bowled four overs and took a wicket with a mind-boggling economy of 2.00.

His IPL breakthrough came in 2014 after Yadav shone in the Ranji Trophy. In the 2014 IPL auction, Jayant was bought by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) but struggled to find his place in the playing 11 often. 

The all-rounder played just 10 games for the franchise in three seasons before being release. The following year, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians for IPL 2019. He won the IPL twice with the franchise but his role was limited to a utility player again with just nine games and four wickets by the end of 2021 season. He was subsequently released before the mega auction.

In February 2022, he was bought by the Gujarat Titans but didn't play a role in the winning campaign in IPL 2022 and eventually made his debut in the 2023 season against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow. The spinner couldn't take any wickets in his sole appearance for the side in two seasons.
