Rahul Tewatia IPL Profile

Rahul Tewatia is an Indian cricketer who has been in the limelight for quite some time now after displaying his talents in the Indian Premier League. Tewatia, who plays for Haryana in domestic cricket, was born on May 20, 1993, in Faridabad, Haryana. He is an all-arounder who bowls right-arm leg spin and bats left-handed. 

The all-rounder made his debut for Haryana against Karnataka during the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy on December 2013, scoring just 17 runs in two games. As his performance was not attracting attention until then, his List A debut took some time. Tewatia made his maiden appearance in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on February 2017. 

Even though he joined the IPL in 2014 after being acquired by Rajasthan Royal for Rs 10 lakhs, he couldn't find his feet with the franchise in the first few seasons. His breakthrough season came in 2017 with Kings XI Punjab, when he bowled a match-winning spell of 2/18 against KKR in his first game. In the next year's auction, he became a hot property as he went from a base price of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 3 crore to Delhi Capitals. 

However, he remained a fringe player with the outfit and was traded off to his first franchise Rajasthan Royal in 2020. The season earned him a cult status in the tournament as he smashed an outstanding five sixes in the last over against his former side Kings XI Punjab with Sheldon Cottrell at the receiving end at the iconic Sharjah Stadium. He scored 53 runs off only 31 balls and helped Rajasthan Royals chase down a massive target of 224 runs. 

Two seasons later, he played a crucial role for Gujarat Titans, his new IPL team, scoring three 40s where they finished as 2022 title-holders.
