Glenn Phillips IPL Profile

Glenn Phillips plays international cricket for the New Zealand national cricket team and plays for Otago in the domestic circuit.  Born in East London in South Africa, Phillips moved to New Zealand at the age of five. The South-Africa born cricketer has a frame of 5 ft 11 in and has a body weight of 77 kg. He is 26 years of age at the time of IPL 2023.

Phillips is a right-handed aggressive batsman who is known for his ability to play big shots and the ease with which he plays outrageous and unorthodox shots such as the reverse pull make him a treat to watch. He is a good wicketkeeper and is predominantly used as a keeper batsman but can also come handy with the ball. He is a right arm off-break bowler.

He made his List A debut on 24 January, 2015, in the Ford Trophy. He also made it to the Kiwis squad for the 2016 edition of U-19 World Cup. In February 2017, he was added to New Zealand's T20I squad for their series against South Africa, after Martin Guptill was ruled out due to injury. He made his T20I debut for New Zealand against South Africa at Eden Park, Auckland on 17 February, 2017.

Phillips formerly featured for Rajasthan Royals in IPL back in 2021 and was snapped up by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2022 auction for Rs 1.5 Crore. Glenn Phillips has plenty of experience across franchise cricket tournaments across the world and was a major hit in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). His younger brother Dale Phillips is also a cricketer who represents Otago in New Zealand domestic cricket.
