David Andrew Miller is a South African professional cricketer, who is popularly known as 'Killer Miller'. This aggressive left-handed middle-order batsman, also an occasional wicket-keeper, was born on June 10, 1989 in Pietermaritzburg, Natal Province, South Africa. Owing to his tendency to go over the boundary, his stating proverb, ""If it's in the V, it's in the tree; If it's in the arc, it's out the park"", has become popular.
Miller's consistency in domestic cricket earned him the South African national team call-up for the T20I series against West Indies in May 2010. Even on his maiden international tour, he didn't fail to entertain the audience with his stunning batting.
The power-hitter slammed his maiden international hundred in an ODI match against the West Indies in 2015. His T20I century had to wait longer as it took him seven years since his debut in the format to hit the first ton. The southpaw ensured it was memorable as he shot it in just 35 deliveries, which is now the fastest at the level.
His stature as a power-hitter reached IPL too as Kings XI Punjab bagged him for the 2011 season a year after his debut but had to watch the entire season from the dugout. The story remained the same in 2012 as Miller played his first IPL match for Punjab in 2013. He made the occasion memorable again as he scored the third-fastest IPL century, taking just 38 deliveries to reach the mark.
Miller remained with KXIP till IPL 2019 after which he was released and bought at the subsequent auction by Rajasthan Royals. After a two-season unsuccessful stint, he was released ahead of the 2022 mega auction, where he was bought by the Gujarat Titans. He was pivotal member of the side in the maiden season as GT won the title. David Miller tied the knot with Sarah Joy Miller, a member of the Three Graces, in 2009.
