Lockie Ferguson Biography
Lockie Ferguson is a New Zealand international cricketer who represents the Blackcaps across formats. Ferguson plays first-class cricket for Auckland and is currently contracted to Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He is a right-arm fast bowler and a right-handed batsman.
Ferguson is widely regarded as one of the fastest bowlers ever to grace the game of cricket and delivered his fastest delivery to date at a whooping 157.3 km/h. The Auckland-born fast-bowler is able to bowl at a consistently high pace and is known for his dangerous bouncers.
Born on 13 June 1991, Ferguson is aged 31 ahead of the IPL 2023 season. He is blessed with a solid physique and a frame of 6 feet 1 inch and has a body weight of around 80 kg.
In February 2017, he was bought by the Rising Pune Supergiants team for the 2017 Indian Premier League. In December 2018, he was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. In the 2022 Indian Premier League auction, Ferguson was bought by the Gujarat Titans where he won the title.
In the IPL Auction 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders re-acquired the services of Lockie Ferguson for Rs 10 Crore and he is expected to be a key player for the franchise once again. Ferguson enjoyed a fine IPL campaign in 2022 for Gujarat Titans as he picked up 12 wickets in 13 games and his best tally was 4 wickets for 28 runs against Delhi Capitals.
