Vishnu Vinod Biography

Hailing from Kerala, Vishnu Vinod is a wicket-keeper batsman who plays for his home state in domestic circuit and Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League. Born on 2nd December 1993, he is known for his aggressive batting style while playing at the top. Although he is quite flexible with the ability to bat at any position as well.
After some impressive outing in the U-19 and U-23 squad for Kerala, his solid debut game for the senior side in the 2014–15 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Karnataka, first caught people's attention. In his first game, he scored 33 runs, which helped Kerala win in a tight encounter. Later in the same year, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he made his List A debut.
Based on his strong hitting abilities and his consistently excellent performances for his state team, in 2016, Royal Challengers Bangalore roped in the aggressive batter marking his IPL debut. However, a string of unimpressive matches made it difficult for him to secure a spot in the starting XI. After a season of dismay, the franchise released him and he returned him to the domestic circuit to improve his game.
After a fantastic 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy season, in which he scored 508 runs in eight matches and was Kerala's leading scorer, he came to prominence once more. His outstanding performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy attracted the attention of other franchises yet again. The Delhi Capitals bought him for IPL 2021 auctions for a base price of Rs 20 lakhs. Although he did not play any game and next season was roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Again after a year sitting on the bench, he was released by the Hydrebad franchise. This time Mumbai Indians picked him for 2023 IPL season with another shot to revive his IPL career.
