Mandeep Singh Biography

Mandeep Singh is an Indian cricketer who is contracted to Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. Mandeep plays for Punjab in Ranji Trophy & Vijay Hazare Trophy and for North Zone in Zonal Tournament. He has also represented India at international level and has played for North Zone in the Duleep Trophy and Deodhar Trophy. He was the vice-captain of the India under-19 cricket team for the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
Born on 18 December 1991 in Jalandhar, Punjab, Mandeep is an all-rounder. He is a right-handed batsman who can also make an impression with right-arm medium pace bowling. Mandeep got his first IPL break in 2010 with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2010 but made his name at Kings XI Punjab after joining the franchise kn 2011.
Mandeep particularly caught the eye in the 2012 season of IPL as he scored 432 runs from 16 matches, including two half-centuries, and ended the tournament as Kings XI Punjab's leading run-scorer. He was awarded 'Rising Star of the tournament Award' for his exploits for KXIP. He was also the highest run scorer in 2015 Vijay Hazare Trophy. On the back of his form in the tournament, he was selected for India's tour of Zimbabwe in 2015.
He was on the books of Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2015 to 2018 and was again snapped up by Kings XI Punjab where he stayed between 2019 and 2021. Mandeep was signed by Delhi Capitals in 2022 and has been signed by KKR in the IPL 2023 auction for just Rs. 50 lakhs.
Mandeep boasts a frame of 5 feet 8 inches and has a body weight of 63 kg. His father was an athletics coach in Jalandhar who initially did not want his son to pursue a career in cricket. He married Jagdeep Jaswal in 2016 and has a son named Rajveer Singh.
