Praveen Dubey IPL Profile

Born on July 1, 1993, Praveen Dubey is a domestic India cricketer renowned for his versatility as an all-rounder, representing Karnataka in domestic cricket. With a skill set encompassing right-handed batting and leg-spin bowling, Dubey has showcased his potential in the domestic circuit. 
Hailing from Bengaluru, Dubey embarked on his cricketing journey with a fervent desire to excel in the sport. Making his List-A debut for Karnataka in 2015 marked his initial foray into professional cricket. Despite facing initial setbacks, Dubey persevered and earned a recall to the state team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2018. However, consistent opportunities proved difficult until his resurgence in the Karnataka Premier League in 2019, which propelled him back into the spotlight and earned him a place in Karnataka's Vijay Hazare Trophy-winning squad. He bagged nine wickets in five matches and helped Karnataka win the competition for the fourth time.

The pinnacle of Dubey's early career came when he caught the attention of the cricketing fraternity by securing an IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016, without even having played a single first-class game.  

After RCB released him without handing him any game, his IPL debut came in 2020 after Delhi Capitals roped him in as a replacement for their injured player Amit Mishra. Although he managed to play only three games but the franchise retained him for the next three seasons.

As a middle-order batsman, Dubey's repertoire of strokes enables him to adapt to various match situations, whether anchoring the innings or accelerating the run rate. Furthermore, his proficiency in leg-spin bowling, characterised by deceptive googlies and subtle variations, adds a crucial dimension to his game, making him a valuable asset in both batting and bowling departments.
