In the fast-paced world of cricket, where precision meets power, Prasidh Krishna emerges as a promising talent, setting ablaze the pitches with his fiery deliveries. Hailing from Karnataka, this right-arm fast bowler has quickly etched his name, drawing inspiration from legendary mentors such as Glenn McGrath and Jeff Thompson.
Krishna's journey to cricketing stardom began with a bang when he made his first-class debut for Karnataka in 2015 against Bangladesh's A team, showcasing his mettle with an impressive haul of 5 wickets for 49 runs. Since then, there has been no looking back. He seamlessly transitioned into the limited-overs format, making impactful appearances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, emerging as Karnataka's leading wicket-taker during the 2017-18 season. He was particularly impressive in the final against Saurashtra, registering figures of 3 for 37.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) soon beckoned, and Prasidh Krishna grabbed the opportunity with both hands. His stint with the Kolkata franchise in 2018 saw him making waves with his consistent performances, including a memorable four-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He picked 10 wickets from 7 matches in his debut campaign.
With each season, he honed his skills, and in IPL 2021 the tall pacer notched up 12 crucial wickets for KKR. He remained with the team for four seasons before signing for the Rajasthan-based franchise in 2022. He has since been part of the team.
Krishna's stellar performances did not go unnoticed, earning him a coveted spot in the national squad for the ODI series against England in March 2021. Making his debut, he left an indelible mark by breaking a 24-year-old record for the most wickets taken on an ODI debut by an Indian pacer, claiming four wickets for 54 runs.
