Jason Holder is a West Indian all-rounder who plays for Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League. Born on Nov 05, 1991, Holder been an effective presence in the tournament since making his IPL debut in 2013.
He has represented several teams throughout the years, including Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Lucknow Super Giants.
But his stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad has been the most productive. In the 2020 edition of the domestic T20 competition, in seven matches he picked up 14 wickets and scored 66 runs at an average of 33.00, helping his side reach the playoffs. He was also named the man of the match in the eliminator against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2020 edition. Ahead of the 2023 auction, Lucknow released the Caribbean allrounder and RR signed him for Rs. 5.75 cr.
A reliable batsman and a steady medium-pacer, Holder is a regular for the West Indies team in all three formats. At 23 years, and 72 days, he became the youngest-ever West Indian captain in 2015 replacing Dwayne Bravo. He is also the fastest player for the West Indies, in terms of games, to score 1,000 runs and take 100 wickets in ODIs and achieved the feat in 74 ODIs. He captained West Indies in the 2015 World Cup as well where they won three games. He was also part of the squad that won the 2016 World T20, though he didn't play any game. The 6 ft 7in all-rounder is unmarried but is currently engaged to his would-be wife Jasmine Quinn.
