Shahrukh Khan IPL Profile

Masood Shahrukh Khan is an Indian batting all-rounder, who was born on May 27, 1995, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Khan is a right-hand batsman, who plays for home side Tamil Nadu in the domestic cricket. The all-rounder is renowned for his ability to hit the ball hard and carries the reputation of a finisher in the limited format. Shahrukh acknowledges Dinesh Karthik's influence on him as a finisher and for improving his gameplay.

His stellar performances for Tamil Nadu at U-16, U-19, and U-22 levels put him at the forefront of attention as Khan eventually made his List A debut for the senior team in a game against Goa on February 2014. 

He also played his T20 debut match the same year. Though Shahrukh played List-A and T20 cricket for Tamil Nadu in 2014, he had to wait for his maiden Ranji cap until 2018. 

On December 2018, Khan made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu against Kerala in the Ranji Trophy for the 2018–19 season. In the match, he scored 92 runs off 155 balls at number seven. Khan was also part of a historic Tamil Nadu side, which remained unbeaten throughout the entire season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali championship in 2021 and won the trophy.

Khan's little achievements in domestic cricket helped him get a significant break in the IPL in 2021 when Punjab Kings picked him for a hefty fee. He made his IPL debut against Rajasthan Royals, scoring an unbeaten six off 4 balls. The following year, he was retained by the Punjab Kings for the IPL 2022 and 2023 seasons. 

His pinch-hitting abilities attracted the attention of the national selectors too as Khan was named as one of two standby players in India's T20I squad for a series against the West Indies. He is still an uncapped Indian player.
