Joshua Little, who was born and raised in Ireland, has a strong interest in sports from a young age. Born in 1999, the left-arm bowler possesses the speed to trouble the greatest batters in the world. The seamer hails from a sporty family, and his two sisters also represent Ireland on a global scale. Little is a product of Irish domestic circles, where the lefty plays for Leinster Lightning.
Little earned his international debut before playing a domestic game. In 2016, the 16-year-old Irish international made his T20I debut against Hong Kong. His skill enticed the selectors to choose him for the U-19 World Cup in 2016. He was also included in Ireland's T20I team for the series against Afghanistan in India in March 2017 but had to withdraw due to an obligation to complete an exam. In December 2017, he was nominated to Ireland's team for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
In May 2019, the Dublin-born was selected for a one-off ODI against touring England, marking his ODI debut. Since then, he has played regularly for Ireland in both limited-overs forms. In 2020, he was a vital player in Ireland's T20I triumph against the West Indies in the Caribbean, taking 3 for 29 while defending 208, and he also claimed five wickets in two ODIs against England later that year.
Little took a hat-trick against New Zealand on November 4, 2022, in a T20 Cricket World Cup match. He dismissed Kane Williamson, James Neesham, and Mitchell Santner. He also established an Irish record in 2022 for the most T20I wickets in a single calendar year, with 39 scalps in 26 matches.
In the same year, the Gujarat franchise signed Little ahead of the Indian Premier League 2023 season. This made him the first Irish player to sign an IPL deal. Over the glove, Little competes for numerous T20 teams, including the Multan Sultans and the Pretoria Capitals.
