Kane Williamson IPL Profile

Kane Williamson is a well-established New Zealand cricketer, who was born on 8 August 1990 in Tauranga, Gulf of Plant area, New Zealand. Kane, a right-handed batsman and also occasionally bowls off-spin, is currently a skipper of the New Zealand national team in limited-overs cricket. 

His ability to be calm even during a difficult match made him one of the most successful New Zealand batters and captains. Williamson made his international (ODI) debut against India in a tri-series tournament in Sri Lanka on August 2010. Regarded as one of the modern-day great, Williamson was the sole New Zealand player to represent in the ICC Test Team of the Decade (2011–2020).

His IPL debut was in 2015 with Sunrisers Hyderabad, with whom he also won the IPL title in 2016. Two seasons later, Williamson was also named the captain of the side and led them to a runners-up finish. He also won the Orange Cap in the 2018 IPL season for scoring the most runs (735). He was bought by Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023 after they bid INR 2 crore for him during the mini auction. He, however, was ruled out of the competition after getting injured in the tournament opener between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings while fielding. 

He is only the second batsman in ODI history after Yasir Hameed to score 50 or more in each of the five games of the ODI home series against India in 2014. In 2010, Williamson played his first Test match against India and scored 131 runs off 299 deliveries, making him the eighth player from New Zealand to do so. 

In addition, he is the fastest New Zealand cricketer to score 6,000 runs in Test cricket. The Kiwi star is also addressed as 'Steady the Ship' due to his consistent and reliable performance, which resulted in some eye-catching brilliant statistics. 

Personal life Kane Williamson is in a relationship with British-born nurse Sarah Raheem, who apparently started dating in 2015. The duo has two children, a daughter and a son.
