Rinku Singh IPL Profile

Rinku Singh is an Indian cricketer who plays domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He is a left-handed top order batsman and a right-handed off-spinner. Rinku is known for his aggressive and fearless style of batting and has plenty of potential.

Rinku has seen plenty of struggles in his childhood days and has overcome all the difficulties to reach the top. He was born in a working class family to Khanchandra Singh who worked in an LPG distribution company and was third among five siblings. During his early years, he considered getting a job as sweeper to help his financially strapped family before running away to pursue a career in Cricket.

He represented Uttar Pradesh at the Under-16, Under-19 and Under-23 levels and Central Zone at the Under-19 level. He made his List A cricket debut for Uttar Pradesh in March 2014 at the age of 16 and scored 83 in that game, which was also the highest score. The left-hander made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy on 5 November 2016 and has since been a key player for his state.

Born on October 12, 1997, Rinku Singh turned 25 ahead of the IPL 2023 campaign. He has frame of 5 feet 5 inches and is weighed around 65 kg. He is yet to fully blossom in IPL and has so far played just 17 games since his debut in the competition back in 2018. His highest score in the Indian Premier League so far is 42 not out in 23 balls against Rajasthan Royals in 2022 where he hit six boundaries and one six.

Rinku was snapped up by Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2017 but did not get to make his debut. His star eventually shone next year as Kolkata Knight Riders secured his services in the 2018 IPL auction for Rs. 80 lakh. In the IPL Auction 2023, the Kolkata franchise acquired the services of Rinku Singh for Rs 55 lakh.
